Hoist Liftruck has sold a 52,000-pound P-Series Ro-Ro liftruck to Ceres Marine Terminals in Baltimore. This marks the first P-Series Ro-Ro sold since Hoist introduced the forklift in June.

The 52,000-pound forklift will be built on a 170-inch wheelbase with a 48-inch load center and feature: Cummins 8.3L diesel engine; Dana 32,000 transmission; AxleTech heavy-duty drive axle; wet-disc brakes; fully-enclosed cab with air-ride seat; removable counterweight; electronic hydraulic controls; easy-access service points; and RemoteTech® vehicle diagnostics system.

“We are extremely excited to work with Ceres on their equipment needs,” says Marty Flaska, owner of Hoist Liftruck. “We feel confident that the P-Series Ro-Ro will become a workhorse for Ceres not only in Baltimore, but also Ceres locations around the United States and worldwide.”

Delivery of the P-Series Ro-Ro is scheduled for early August.

The entrance into the port, intermodal and breakbulk industries isn’t a new venture for Hoist Liftruck. The company was formed from the acquisition of Brooklyn, New York-based Silent Hoist & Crane, which was one of the pioneers of material handling equipment for American ports more than 80 years ago. Silent Hoist & Crane heavy-duty forklifts and container handlers could be seen at all the ports along the east coast, and paved the way for other manufacturers and innovative equipment.

Hoist Liftruck is re-entering the market with a new generation of equipment with the pneumatic P-Series lift truck (22,000 lbs. – 100,000 lbs.), the new P-Series Ro-Ro lift truck and the new empty container handlers, which will be available Fall 2007. Hoist Liftruck’s cushion-tire line of lift trucks – internal combustion Titan and FKS series and electric Lazer Series – are also ideal for various indoors applications.
