On Wednesday, August 14, Hoist Material Handling dealers gathered in Northwest Indiana to listen to and see firsthand all of the changes made in the first four months under new Toyota ownership. The Hoist Material Handling executive team spoke to the progress made with our manufacturing, warranty and aftermarket parts strategies in the short period since our acquisition, and our plans to keep the growth momentum going. Jeff Rufener, President of Toyota Material Handling USA, addressed the strategic partnership opportunity Toyota saw in Hoist, and the role in which dealers play to our success. The theme for the event was “Working Together for a Big Future”, because it takes both our team and our dealers’ teams to drive growth for our brand.

A morning of meetings was followed with a factory tour, where members of our manufacturing team gave an overview of how each department was planning to reach our goals for the remainder of 2019 and beyond. After all of the presentations wrapped up, dealers were invited to play a round of golf at Lost Marsh Golf Club. Teams of four played a full 18 holes and made it back just in time to beat a rainstorm.

Our main strategy for this year has been creating a quality culture. From the very first stage of our manufacturing process, all the way to a Complete Vehicle Inspection before the lift truck leaves our building, each and every Hoist team member has worked hard to improve our processes and give our dealers and customers the best products, as well as best experience possible. This mindset benefits not only our own team, but we believe the dealers and end users will greatly benefit with our “continuous improvement” methodology.
